The True Sabbath—Day 7, not Day 1
The Sabbath was created as per Genesis 2:1-2 for all humans. Genesis 2:2 "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made." Genesis 2:3 "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." [KJV unless otherwise noted.]
We are commanded to remember the Day 7 Sabbath via the fourth Commandment. It is NOT the Jewish Sabbath. The 7th Day Sabbath belongs to our Messiah—for human rest and worship of our Creator. Please understand that there were no Jews (Judaism) on the planet during the time of Creation, so again, the 7th Day Sabbath is NOT the Jewish Sabbath's is taught by Judaism.
The 4th Commandment is given in Exodus 20 and repeated in Deuteronomy 5:
Exodus 20:8 "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Exodus 20:9 "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:" Exodus 20:10 "But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:" Exodus 20:11 "For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is,] and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."
Leviticus 23:3 "Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day [is] the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work [therein:] it [is] the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings."
Deuteronomy 5:12 "Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee." Deuteronomy 5:13 "Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:" Deuteronomy 5:14 "But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou." Deuteronomy 5:15 "And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and [that] the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day."
We must remember that we humans are created beings; we are not the Eternal Creator. We either totally surrender to our Creator completely, and let Him change us, or we don't. If we choose not to surrender to Him completely, we don't receive His Gift of eternal life. It's really very simple. It is my fervent prayer that no human makes the same mistake that Lucifer made way back when.
There is to be no "buying and selling."
Nehemiah 10:31 "And [if] the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, [that] we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: ..."
Isaiah 58:13 "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:"
Jeremiah 17:21 "Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;" Jeremiah 17:22 "Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers."
Amos 8:5 "Saying, 'When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?'"
I no longer buy or sell in any way, shape, or form to the best of my ability on Sabbath (weekly, or annual).
I no longer eat out in restaurants on Sabbath (weekly, or annual).
I no longer travel on Sabbath (weekly, or annual).
I no longer cook on Sabbath (weekly, or annual). I eat food previously prepared (given to me by our Creator) like the Israelites did in the wilderness.
Our Creator knows intimately each human that has ever lived, is living, or will live—whether we know that fact or not—and whether we consciously choose and earnestly desire to be intimate with Him as well, or not. It is my fervent prayer my brothers and sisters that everyone currently not truly following our Messiah wakes up and follows our Messiah today in this moment forever! He is coming very soon!
